Douglass Day Celebration: Join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass, one of the most influential voices in the fight for freedom and equality. This special event, held on Douglass’ self-chosen birthday, honors his enduring impact as an abolitionist, writer, and champion for justice. We’ll host the Library of Congress’ Douglass Day live stream, take part in the annual transcribe-a-thon, and help preserve important historical documents from Frederick Douglass and his collaborators. As we celebrate, enjoy a meal from Mississippi Boy, a beloved local soul food restaurant, and reflect on Douglass’ remarkable legacy and his lasting relevance today. Let’s honor his story and carry forward his mission of justice and equity for all! Join us in JSSB 201!
